Bring NEW Q4 SSR book to class.  Remember:  No science fiction or fantasy.
Reminder:
For marking period assessments-
  • Vocabulary work should include YOUR original sentence that shows that you understand the meaning of the word.  Do NOT write the sentence where the vocabulary word appears in the novel!
  • Figurative Language work needs to include an explanation of WHY the two things are similar (simile and metaphor).  For an allusion - identify it and then explain HOW the subject of the allusion is like that which is being alluded to.  For personification - explain HOW the non-human thing is human-like.

  1. Get a new book for your last quarter's SSR.  Have it on MONDAY, March 28th.
  2. Review subject & verb AGREEMENT.  You took notes on some of the "tricky" indefinite pronoun subjects.  Review them for another quiz on Wednesday.
  3. Review the reading schedule on the SPEAK page here in Weebly.  You have an assessment (C or D) due in class on Wednesday.  When you submit it, you will attach a rubric to it.  I have copies for you to staple on the back.
  4. You need to decide if you are going to take EITHER a  "quiz" on the 1st Marking Period OR write a journal entry.  The journal entry must be handwritten and fill up one side of a page.  You may bring one note-card of notes in preparation for the journal entry.
