- Write a poem using 5 identified words from one of your narrative nature journal entries. You may arrange them in an order that differs from the order they appear in the narrative.
- Build images around them.
- Avoid rhyming.
- Use diction and syntax to create this new poem that is no longer narrative, but lyric in style. Lyric poetry expresses emotion.
Audience - anyone who loves or appreciates nature.
Purpose - communicate or express something about nature though strong diction (word choice), syntax (arrangment of words), and imagery.
