Prepare your visual or music for you Spoon River presentation on 3/17.
Read through Spoon River Anthology. Find a character you are willing to "know" and understand. Attached is the assignment that I will explain at length in class on Wednesday. The actual presentation is not until next week. Drawing numbers on Wednesday, you will sign-up for one character to present to the class. You should select a back-up character, in case someone else chooses your character before you get your turn to choose.
Audience - anyone who loves or appreciates nature. Purpose - communicate or express something about nature though strong diction (word choice), syntax (arrangment of words), and imagery. “Human servitude creates a dehumanized society for both the oppressed and the oppressor.” To what extent does Frederick Douglas’ Narrative support this statement? Be sure to use textual support from chapters 1,2, 6,7, 9, and 10. Your answer should be one page in length (double spaced). Refer to the link to refresh your memory.
In BIG RED read "Outcasts of Poker Flat" beginning on page 514. Answer questions #5, 6, 7, and 8. Nature Journal due TOMORROW before 2:15pm.
